A SUSPECT arrested over the death of Richard Miles who was found with a knife in his chest 20 years ago will face no further police action.

Panel beater Mr Miles, 29, from Newtown near Stonehouse, was found stabbed in his garden in 1993.

Gloucestershire Police arrested three men in November after a man dialled the non-emergency 101 police phone line.

Two of them, a 44-year-old man from Longford initially arrested on suspicion of murder and a 66-year-old man from Stonehouse arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, had their bail cancelled last month.

Now, a 53-year-old from Quedgeley who was arrested on suspicion of murder has had his bail cancelled by police.

A police spokesman said the case would now be closed but the force will continue to investigate any new information that comes to light.
