THE NHS has quashed rumours that Standish Hosiptal has been sold.
Last week the SNJ reported how a Stonehouse Town Council meeting had been told that the site in Horsemarling Lane had been sold.
Cllr David Drew announced that he had heard the information from a ‘reliable source’ and that he would be interested to know who had bought the site and what they planned to do with it.
However an NHS Property Services spokesperson has said that Standish Hospital has not been sold and is still owned by NHS Property Services.
“We are continuing discussions with a range of partner organisations about the most appropriate and best future use of the site.”
A public meeting to discuss the future of the site is due to be held at Standish Village Hall at 7pm on Thursday, February 13.
