THE Environment Agency has issued a severe flood warning for the River Frome at Eastington.
At 6 am today, Friday, the level at the Eastington Gauge was 1.8 metres and rising and more rainfall is forecast over the next few days which may cause levels to rise further.
Currently there are no official flood warnings at Stonehouse and Bridgend or Stroud and Ryeford however Dowton Road in Stonehouse near the Haven Avenue junction is closed because of flooding.
Also, Stroud District Council wardens are carrying out flood checks on homes in the district as the water levels continue to rise.
