REGULARS have lost the fight to save their pub after a campaign was launched last year to stop the Spa Inn in Oldends Lane, Stonehouse, being turned into five houses.
This week, a planning inspector allowed the application after an appeal by applicant Wadworth Brewery.
The appeal was lodged on the basis that Stroud District Council had failed to decide the application within the required time frame.
A decision was deferred in August, with councillors saying more information was needed on the viability of the pub. The inspector ruled that enough information had been provided and allowed the application.
Full costs were awarded to Wadworth Brewery.
