A YOUNG entrepreneur has got a handle on success after starting his own mug printing business.
Jack Smith, 17, is a second year student at William Morris House College in Stonehouse, a specialist college which promotes work related learning and independence for young people with learning disabilities.
In October, as part of his studies, Jack started his own mug printing business Mug Magic and in the past five months has completed orders for up to 100 mugs and is now looking at employing other students.
Currently Jack, who said he really enjoys being his own boss, is responsible for the process of creating the mugs attaching the designs, using the mug press and ensuring quality control.
Gill Paterson, head of education at the college in Eastington, said: “The reason why this business is so great for Jack is that he has responsibilities.
“He has to process and meet orders, adhere to health and safety regulations and problem solve on the job and it’s fantastic to see him so focused and happy.
“Because we are a small specialist college we have the great privilege of being able to take students as individuals and look at what they personally need to develop and grow – and for Jack Mug Magic was the answer.”
