A 19-YEAR-OLD man appeared at Stroud Magistrates’ Court charged with possessing MDMA and being drunk and disorderly on Monday.
Harry Blackwell-Smith, of Ragnal Lane, Nailsworth pleaded guilty to both offences.
The court heard that police were called to the Lord John pub in Russell Street, Stroud on Saturday, December 28 after Blackwell-Smith became verbally abusive to door staff.
He had been banned a few days earlier and trouble flared when he was denied entry, the court was told.
Prosecutor Teresa Perry said Blackwell-Smith was arrested and while being searched police found white powder which was later identified as MDMA worth £40.
Kirsty Gordon-Cleaver, defending, said her client had now realised that drink does not mix well with him and added that he had not used drugs or had a drink since the incident.
Blackwell-Smith was fined £20 for the drunk and disorderly offence and £30 for the drug charge.
He must also pay a victim surcharge of £20 plus costs of £85.
Bench chairman Michael Caley said Blackwell-Smith’s behaviour had been “stupid”.
