THE day after splitting up with his partner, Jerome Campbell went back to her Stroud home and assaulted her and her new boyfriend, a court heard on Wednesday.

Campbell, 32, had been with Kerry Eisley for two years and although not normally jealous he was angry that he was replaced so quickly, Gloucester Crown Court was told.

Campbell, now of Marina Gardens, Bristol, admitted common assault on Kerry Eisley and assault causing actual bodily harm on Ryan Osbourne. He was sentenced to a total of 30 weeks in jail suspended for a year and ordered to do 100 hours of unpaid work.

Judge William Hart also ordered him to pay £300 compensation to Mr Osbourne and £150 costs.

Prosecutor Janine Wood said Campbell’s relationship with Miss Eisley ended in September.

Campbell then came around and knocked the phone from her hand when she tried to call a friend, said Ms Wood.

He grabbed her around the neck then let go and left.

“A short while later she and Mr Osbourne went outside to check around. As they were about to go back into the house the defendant appeared from nowhere and attacked Mr Osbourne,” she said.

“He grabbed him by the neck and dragged him into the kitchen. He admits Mr Osbourne was punched and hit with a phone.”

Fiona Elder, defending, said “He recognises this is a serious incident. But it appears to be one entirely out of character.”
