A MAN was assaulted on his own doorstep in Cheltenham on Sunday (February 23).

Officers are appealing for information about the incident on Princess Elizabeth Way, opposite Dormer Road, at about 8.20pm.

A man carrying a parcel approached the 48-year-old victim as he walked towards his address.

He placed the parcel on the floor but as the victim opened the door the man forced what is believed to be a stun gun into his face and used it before running off.

The victim suffered puncture wounds to his face as a result of the incident.

The man is described as white, 40-50 years old, 5ft 8ins tall and of wiry build. He was wearing a black woollen hat, black 'Donkey' style jacket, blue jeans and black shoes. He spoke with a soft Northern Irish accent.

Anyone who saw the man, witnessed the incident or has any information should call 101, quoting incident 407 of February 23.
