DOZENS of charities and community projects took part in a volunteering event in Stroud on Friday.
A range of Gloucestershire charities were showcased at the Do Something Different Day in the Subscription Rooms, including Help A Hedgehog, Stroud Beresford Group and Stroud Foodbank, giving would-be volunteers a chance to see what they do and to get involved.
Organiser Jenn Banfield, who volunteers for the credit union, said: “Many organisations have a constant additional duty to provide community awareness and support as well as the training and life-long learning for all our volunteers.
"I am really proud that we’ve managed to pull such a huge event together.
"We have even had enquiries from as far away as Aston, which is brilliant.”
