A 21-year-old man killed in a crash at Kingscote, Gloucestershire this morning has been named.

The incident involved two vehicles on the A4135 between Hunters Hall and Calcot.

Gloucestershire police were alerted to the incident at 5.50am.

A Ford Transit Connection with two occupants and a silver MG ZR Rover with a single male occupant were involved in the accident.

The male driver of the MG ZR was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been named locally as Jake Rebbeck from Wotton-under-Edge.

A police spokesman said: “A silver MG ZR car was in collision with a white Ford Transit Connect van. The driver of the MG, a 21-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”

The driver of the Ford Transit suffered leg and back injuries and has been taken to Frenchay Hospital with internal injuries that are believed to be life-changing.

The passenger suffered chest and arm injuries and has been taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

The road was closed for a number of hours this morning and traffic diverted via Newington Barn.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.
