Archway School students become science sleuths for a day

PUPILS at Archway School turned into science sleuths on Friday as they solved crimes and explored new discoveries and inventions in a cross curricular day as a precursor for National Science and Engineering Week, which runs from March 14 to 23.

The year seven students were helped in their studies by members of Gloucestershire STEM ambassadors’ team and the Discovery Dome team who introduced new advances in space in their mobile planetarium.

Students used their science skills to investigate clues from a murder mystery, dramatise a murder, crack codes in maths, write a pictorial newspaper account of the day in English.

They also made a freeze about speed in art and solved a crime in a foreign language.

Pupils were assisted by students, from years 10, 12 and 13.
