COVENTRY Building Society has donated £1,000 to pay for 50 hours of care by a Cotswold Care Hospice nurse.
The Minchinhampton based organisation is the chosen charity for the building society’s branches in Nailsworth, Stonehouse and Dursley.
For the next year the 17 members of staff at the three branches will raise money for Cotwold Care Hospice and they will each spend a day volunteering.
Gemma Wright, manager at the Stonehouse branch, said: “Although the charity was chosen by our customers nearly everyone in the company has had some involvement with the charity or known someone who benefited from the hospice’s care and support.
“The £1,000 is a community grant from the building society and it will help supply 50 hours of care by a hospice at home nurse.”
Last year Cotswold Care Hospice at home nurses provided more than 24,000 hours of care which is supported free of charge.
“We couldn’t help the people we do without the support of the community and organisations like the Coventry Building Society,” said Emma Boxall, a health care assistant with Cotswold Care day hospice.
“Donations such as this ensure that we can care for even more people who need our support.”
