This budget is a whole load of nothingness for the average worker with a mortgage and a family to feed. Once living costs (without luxuries) have been paid there is already nothing left to save. Let alone going to the pub for a cheaper pint or playing bingo with.
    Spot on.
The average family with a mortgage seems to be able to afford multiple cars, holidays, smart phones and piles of convenience food so don't tell me that they do not have money to save.

It's all about choices and priorities.
Issue is that saving in this country is a rip-off, has been for generations. No wonder people don't bother. Those lucky enough to own a house will rely on that as their investment. it will stay this way until someone actually offers a decent deal to hold onto a pile of savings for 40 years, rather than the norm which is to take it all in fees leaving a pittance. if Gideon pulls it then hats off. I doubt it though."
