THE B4014 road between Avening and Nailsworth will remain closed until just before Easter as gas pipe replacement works continue.
A Wales & West Utilities spokesperson said: “We are carrying out work to upgrade gas pipes between Avening and Nailsworth to make sure that the area continues to have a safe and reliable gas supply.
“This involves replacing 400 metres of old metal gas pipes with new plastic ones which have a lifespan of over 80 years.
“We started the job in mid March and if everything continues to go to plan, we will be completed just before Easter. We have had to close the B4014, between Avening and Nailsworth, to work safely and we do hope that people will bear with us whilst we are working on this essential gas improvement scheme.”
