STROUD MP Neil Carmichael visited Maidenhill School to see the results of a £3.8million refurbishment which was completed last month.

Mr Carmichael was shown around the school in King's Road, Stonehouse, by headteacher Mrs Pam Wilson, who explained how the redesign of the school had improved pupil pride in their surroundings.

Amongst the improvements is new learning resource centre in the heart of the school, landscaping of the original car park to provide a ‘park area’ for pupils to use at breaks and re-insulation of windows for the winter months.

Speaking during the visit Mr Carmichael said: “I am so pleased to see the fantastic developments here at Maidenhill School, made possible by continued investment in our schools by the Government.

“The Stonehouse community can be proud of the facilities I have seen here today and the ethos which is a credit to Mrs Wilson and her team.”
