A DOG walker stumbled across the grisly remains of a mutilated badger in woodland off Pensile Road in Nailsworth last Tuesday, April 8.

The find, a carcass which had the front legs missing, has been reported to the police, and the Gloucestershire Badger Group is putting put up a reward for information leading to a conviction.

There are concerns it could have been dumped by badger baiters who removed the feet as a trophy.

Tony Dean, chairman of the bagder group, said: “It was horrendous. I went out to the site after I was contacted by the walker. I can’t understand why anybody would do this.”

It was found at 8am – anyone with information should call 101.
