Gloucestershire County Council will be holding a fostering and adoption drop-in event at Charlton Kings library, Church Street, GL53 8AR on Thursday 24th April.

People are invited to come along and have a chat with members of the team about fostering and adoption between 2pm and 7pm.

The county council accepts applications to foster and adopt from all sectors of society. All children are different, and to meet their needs the county council is looking for a wide variety of people.

The county council is keen to hear from people looking to foster and adopt children of all ages including babies and toddlers.

There is also a real need for people to foster teenagers and also adopt and foster children with disabilities and groups of brothers and sisters.

There is no upper age limit to foster or adopt and people can come from all walks of life.

The county council aims to approve adopters within six months from their registration of interest.

On average, foster carers are approved within five months of accepting their application to foster.

Those interested in fostering or adoption need to have a spare room available.
