A FORMER Stroud fireman is one of the people being remembered at an event in Gloucester on April 26.
Dick Browning, from Whiteshill, died last November, but life-long friend George Ridgeon is organising a tribute night in memory of Dick and two other pals, with the aim of raising money for charity.
George says: “I met Dick in 1969, when we were both firemen at Cheltenham.
“We discovered we were big fans of motorcycling.”
George celebrates his 70th birthday this year, and he decided to combine his birthday with a fund-raiser remembering Dick and other friends.
Tickets for the event at the Walls Social Club, which offers a bar, buffet and entertainment, cost £5 each with all the money going to local heart, cancer and spinal injuries charities. For tickets, please contact George on 01452 857160.
