CHALFORD Parish Council has launched an appeal for volunteers in order to save Frith Youth Centre.

The youth centre, which was opened in 1974 as the Bussage Boys Club, is at risk of closing for good after 40 years if no one comes forward to take over the running of it.

Currently the centre in Bussage playing field hosts a number of daytime and evening classes as well as a coffee morning every Wednesday.

Council clerk Christine Prince explained the trustees felt they had done all they could and therefore asked the parish council to take on the trusteeship – which it agreed to at this month’s meeting.

The council is appealing for volunteers to help keep the centre going.

Anyone interested in helping should contact the parish council on 01453 887204.
