TWO appeals against decisions to refuse planning permission for a site in Farrs Lane off Nelson Street, Stroud, have been dismissed.
The first appeal was against Stroud District Council’s decision to refuse planning permission for 10 flats including the demolition of existing buildings and the erection of a car park barrier.
The appeal was dismissed because of concerns about the supply of employment sites, the effect on neighbouring residents and the living conditions of the intended occupiers with particular regard to noise and smells from a nearby fish and chip shop, a pub and a bar.
The second appeal was against the decision to refuse to grant conservation area consent for the demolition of the existing buildings. The inspector ruled that the demolition should not be permitted.
