A HEART operation spurred on an artist to paint the Duchess of Cambridge clutching baby George.
Hungarian painter, George Novoth, who has lived in Stroud for 57 years, started painting after an open heart operation stopped him from working.
The hobby which has been ‘on and off’ for the past 25 years and he is most proud of his recent piece, which was inspired by the Royal birth last year.
After his operation in 1980 his partner and biggest supporter, Julia Sztanko has been caring for him accompanying him to hospital appointments.
Fan of the royals, George, has paintings of the Queen and Margaret Thatcher hanging at Museum in the Park in Stratford along with another painting of the Queen in a conference room at Stroud.
George fled his homeland after the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and arrived in Stroud the following year.
