TWELVE gardens in Eastcombe, Bussage and Brownshill will be open to visitors over this May Bank Holiday weekend.

Organised by the Hilltop Gardening Club the gardens will open from 2pm and 6pm on Sunday, May 4 and Monday, May 5.

The event will raise funds in aid of the National Gardens Scheme supported charities and three local charities – Cotswold Care Hospice, Acorns Children’s Hospice and Hope for Tomorrow, the charity that provides mobile chemotherapy facilities.

As ever there is a great variety of styles to discover as you tour the gardens.

Landscaped and steeply sloping terrain, layered terraces, cottage gardens and compact, imaginative designs in an estate setting are all there to be enjoyed.

Following the success of the Plant Heritage plant sale last year the plant preservation charity will return again this year with its stalls outside Eastcombe Village Hall on Sunday, May 4.

Also at the village hall there will be a chance to enjoy a cup of tea, home-made scones with jam and cream or a slice of home-made cake.

Admission to all the gardens is £5 – children are free.

Tickets and maps are available at the village hall or any garden.
