A STROUD mother of two appeared before Gloucester Crown Court for threatening to kill her next-door neighbour with a large knife after complaining about her playing noisy music.

Sharon Bishop, 26, of Nursery Close, told police she ‘wanted to make a point’ when she scared neighbour Sophie Driver with a knife.

She said she’d had trouble sleeping and had become fed up with the noise of her neighbour’s music and laughing.

Bishop pleaded guilty to making a threat with a bladed article in a public place and was given a six month jail sentence suspended for two years.

She was placed under supervision for two years and given a mental health treatment order.

Judge Jamie Tabor QC told her people who did what she did would normally expect imprisonment but he accepted she had mental health difficulties.
