LONGNEY C of E Primary School is celebrating after being rated ‘outstanding’ in a Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools.
The inspection was carried out last term by the Gloucester Diocese, which visits all church schools in the area, and looked at aspects of school life including distinctiveness, values, collective worship, assemblies and religious education teaching.
The inspection report noted that Longney is a school which creates “an environment where children are valued as individuals and whose talents are given every opportunity to flourish”.
The inspector commented that there are “relationships between all members of the school community which enable and consistently promote an effective work ethic”.
Headteacher Penny Cartwright said: “We are delighted with the result of this inspection. Our school vision ‘Building Community, Enriching Lives’ is at the heart of everything we do, and it is lovely to see this has been recognised.”
