JUGGLING childcare while writing a blog is not something which would appeal to most busy mums.

But mother-of-two Steph Douglas revels in relaying the ups and downs of her home life with readers across the world.

Steph, 33, who grew up in Stroud but now lives in south west London, started her blog, www.sisterhoodandallthat.com, in February and much to her surprise has been shortlisted for a BritMums Brilliance in Blogging award.

The award aims to highlight the best of parent lifestyle blogging by recognising the most creative, inventive and compelling blogging of the year.

Last year more than 200,000 nominations and votes were cast – making it one of the UK’s most popular blogger awards.

Steph, whose father the Rev Steve Earley recently retired as vicar of Nailsworth, said: “I only started the blog in February and it’s all about being honest about being a grown-up and a mother and that sometimes it is hard and we need to be able to laugh or cry together.

“If everyone is pretending that they find it a breeze, everyone else feels that they should do too.

“Lots of women have been in touch – including old school friends from Stroud – to say that they have felt the same and it’s much less isolating once you realise we’re in it together.

“The award would mean that people like what I’m saying but also that they like my writing, which would be a huge compliment. Being able to say ‘award-winning’ would also open up doors for the blog.”

To get to the finals, former Archway School student Steph, needs as many votes as possible. Vote for Steph’s blog at http://bit.ly/1o5DS1V by midnight on Friday, May 16.
