GET on your bike and raise some money for a Gloucestershire children’s charity.

The Pied Piper Active! Walk, Ride or Play takes place on Sunday, May 25 and participants can choose to take part in a walkathon of various distances or a 25-mile cycle ride.

There is a 25-mile walkathon for serious walkers, or a five or 10-mile family walk.

For the walkathon, you can choose up to three sections – Highnam Court to Hardwicke, Hardwicke to Hucclecote and Hucclecote to Innsworth.

For the family walk, choose either a five or 10-mile circular route from Highnam Court near Gloucester, where the event starts, and back again.

The bike ride is a 25-mile cycle around the Severn Vale and the sponsored trike and wheelchair event takes place along the Tarmac at the court and can be repeated as many times as the participant wants.

Scott Smurthwaite, vice-chairman of the Pied Piper Appeal, said: “It’s a great day out for all the family.

“Whether you’re a serious walker, have teenagers that love bike rides or toddlers who love nature trails, this is the event for you.

“It’s an amazing charity and every penny raised stays right here in Gloucestershire, helping sick and life-limited children whether they’re in hospital or at home.”
