'Find the Bunny' event promotes Rabbit Awareness Week
AN ANIMAL-loving schoolgirl from Stroud is helping organise an event to promote Rabbit Awareness Week.
Martha Hopes, 14, who attends Maidenhill School, has teamed up with Grace Averiss from Cirencester to run a ‘Find the Famous Bunny Search’ at RSPCA shops in Stroud, Nailsworth, Wotton under Edge and Cirencester.
The girls, both regular volunteers with the charity, have ‘hidden’ six famous bunnies around the shops, and people are being invited to find the famous furries, identify them and enter a prize draw. Entry costs £1 and correct entries will go into a draw to win a prize at each shop.
Alison Coates, Trustee of the South Cotswolds branch of the RSPCA, said: “I would like to encourage everyone come into the shops to support the girls in their first event. They have put a huge amount of effort into organising the Bunny Search, and we are extremely proud to be able to say they volunteer with us.”
She added: “We are planning to make this an annual event and hope local shops and pubs might also become involved by hosting our six famous bunnies. The Golden Fleece in Nelson Street, Stroud, has already agreed to take part.”
