THE new foodbank in Nailsworth has helped more than 30 people in the four weeks since it opened.

Since it opened in April the foodbank, which is located in Christ Church, has seen an increase in the number of customers and has now helped 33 people – 16 of them being children.

The Nailsworth Foodbank is part of the wider Stroud District Foodbank that has been operating for the past two years and which fed over 4,000 people in the last financial year.

Foodbank manager, Will Mansell, said: “This new branch is a really lifeline for people in Nailsworth facing crisis.

“The quick start we have made at the service demonstrates that there has been an underlying need for some time that we are only now meeting”.

The new centre in Nailsworth is aimed at people who are unable to get to the other foodbank drop in centres that already operate in Stroud, Dursley, Stonehouse and Wotton.

Please leave any donations at the Coventry Building Society branch in Fountain Street Nailsworth.
