A STROUD farm is celebrating its 25th anniversary this week by reflecting on a fun-filled quarter century.

St. Augustines Farm, opened its doors in 1988- although owner Rob Jewell says the farm: “Was very different then and now.”

“It makes me feel old when mums and dads tell me they used to come as children” says the fifth generation farmer, who along with his wife Elaine has over-seen the farm develop from the start.

The Arlingham-based farm is as welcoming to school groups as ever- and even contains a special classroom for farmyard learning.

However, even as the times have changed, the Jewells family have not lost sight of their aim of letting the children enjoy themselves.

Kids can have a go at milking a model cow, whizz around on toy tractors and pet farm animals large and small.

“We have really enjoyed watching generations of children have a fun introduction to life on the farm” added Rob.

St Augustines Farm, Arlingham, Glos opens Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday and every day in school holidays 11 am to 5 pm. For more information visit www.st augustinesfarm.co.uk
