STROUD will be a central to a new footpath which will link the Rivers Thames and Severn, as part of a newly constructed project.
The 45-mile path has been marked out by the Cotsworld Canals Trust using 500 specifically designed waymarkers. The route largely follows the towpaths of Stroud Navigation and Thames and Severn Canal between Framilode and Lechlade, but in places deviates on to other rights of way, such as the Thames Path.
With the path now open, the next step is to map out the walk with the eventual aim of it becoming a national long distance footpath. Find out more online at stroud.gov.uk
