RESEARCHERS are appealing for information about men who died in the First World War.

The Chalford Great War Research Group is researching those remembered on the Christ Church War Memorial.

So far the research group has been unable to find detaills about the following men – L Cummings, H Fowden, F Gardiner, W Gardiner, Charles Saunders, H Stephens and C Weaver.

Pete Drover, of the group, said: “We are investigating not just their military service but also where they were born, lived and worked prior to the start of the war.”

An exhibition of the findings will be held on August 2 at Christ Church from 10am until 4pm. Anyone with information should email peterdrover@tesco.net
