A MAN has died following a collision on the M5 in Gloucestershire last night.

The 57-year-old man, from West Yorkshire, was riding a yellow BMW motorbike when it collided with a blue Ford Mondeo between junction 10 and 11 southbound at about 6.50pm.

The next of kin and coroner have been informed.

A Gloucestershire police spokesman said the driver of the Mondeo, a local woman, was uninjured.

"The road remained closed for several hours while police carried out their investigation," he said.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the motorbike traveling along this stretch of road prior to the collision are asked to call 101, quoting incident 422 of June 1."
