OLIVER Marsden's "psychedelic minimalism" can be viewed at SVA this month.

Oliver creates sculptural paintings, which act to fuse a sensual appreciation of the natural and scientific, where the random and organic meets mathematic structure.

The artist's dub paintings evolved as he experimented with methods and materials. The resultant works celebrate light, spirals, and the intrinsic qualities of paint. Their name is a simple nod to the dub plate music producers and sound systems who inspire him.

Oliver studied Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art in the mid nineties and has been exhibiting internationally since.

The exhibition continues at SVA on John Street until June 21.
