SESSIONS will be held for dementia suffers to help them ‘manage memory’ in Stroud.
The sessions are aimed at helping people to understand what dementia is, how you can live well following a dementia diagnosis and how you can support people with dementia.
Managing Memory 2gether sessions, which will be held throughout June and July, is part of the 2gether NHS Foundation Trust.
The group meetings are free and replacement care and/or travel costs that family members or friends incur through attending the sessions can be reimbursed.
Kathy Holmes, engagement and involvement lead with Managing Memory 2gether, said: “We know that people really benefit from attending our groups and find that they help them to understand the diagnosis better.
“The sessions also provide people with dementia and carers with an opportunity to meet with other people in a similar situation and learn more about the support available in their community.”
The groups are divided into those for people with early stage dementia, as well as their carers, friends and families, and those who are for family, friends and carers of those with dementia.
