FUNDRAISER Deborah Rodway would like to thank everyone who helped her raise a staggering £935 for Cancer Research UK.
Cancer patient Deborah, who has had three operations in two months and is now facing a further 18 months of recovery and treatment, held a fundraising event last month.
Deborah, from Minchinhampton, said: “The event was to celebrate my birthday and the end of my chemotherapy sessions with a further 18 months of recovery, treatment and reconstruction and to thank Cancer Research UK.”
The evening of entertainment which took place on Friday, May 16 at the Sub Rooms, sold 102 tickets and involved fire jugglers, hula hooping, live music, a burlesque routine and pole dancing.
“I am very proud of the money raised, but promoting awareness of the disease is my primary objective and I want people to be familiar with spotting the signs of cancer.
“I believe the key to survival is getting to the doctors early,” added Deborah.
Any donations to support Deborah's charity are accepted at Lloyds 30-98-29, a/c No 35868268, making the reference ‘hearts’.
