MAGGIE Sage is stepping out with her family on Friday to take part in the Cotswold Care Hospice Solstice Walk.
For the 59-year-old from Stroud, it is her way of saying thank you for the support she received.
Last year Maggie was diagnosed with throat cancer. She underwent an extensive period of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Prior to treatment Maggie had a feeding tube fitted in preparation for the inevitable difficulties in swallowing during and after treatment. She lost 3.5 stone.
A friend recommended Maggie contact Cotswold Care Hospice for support.
Maggie will take part in the Solstice Walk with husband John, daughter Laura and five-year-old granddaughter Ellie.
The walk across Minchinhampton Common starts and finishes at the hospice grounds and is open to everyone.
It starts at 6pm and there are 5km or 10km routes. Dogs are welcome.
Registration is £15 for adults or £7.50 for children. Under-fives go free.
To register, call the hospice on 01453 886868, email events@cotswoldcare.org.uk or go to www.cotswoldcare.org.uk. You can also register on the night.
