LEONARD Stanley Primary School hosted special guest, poet James Carter, to speak to the pupils about his work.
As part of the children’s study of poetry Mr Carter was invited to share some of his own and run workshops for each class.
Children were encouraged to have fun with words when creating their compositions on Friday, June 20.
Beginning the day, Mr Carter gave the whole school introductions to his work; performing his own poems while using his musical talent on the guitar.
Buzzing with excitement throughout the whole day, the children were given the chance to write and share their own poems to end the day.
