A NUMBER of historical items are set to be auctioned in Stroud.

Gloucestershire County Council Trading Standards Service will be auctioning off over 100 pieces of weighing and measuring equipment no longer used by their teams. Some of the items date back to the nineteenth century and may be of interest to collectors.

The auction will take place at Stroud Auction Rooms on Wednesday, July 9.

Eddie Coventry, Head of Gloucestershire Trading Standards Service, said: “We are putting these items up for auction as they are no longer used by our teams.

"We anticipate that they will have some historical value to collectors who will be given this unique opportunity to make a bid to own some of these interesting lots."

An online catalogue with the full list of items available at the auction will be available on the website stroudauctions.co.uk/catalogue approximately one week before the sale.
