TWO Winterbourne International Academy pupils have sealed big moves to Championship clubs.

Striker Olly Mehew has joined Blackburn Rovers, while goalkeeper Marcus Beauchamp has signed for Norwich City.

Both players were in the Bristol Rovers Academy and part of the Winterbourne Year 10 side that reached the final of the National Schools’ FA Cup last year.

Their moves come just a year after two other members of that side, Jacob Maddox and Kyle Scott, joined Chelsea.

Head of PE Anthony Hopkins said: “Both boys were part of the very successful team that made it to the national schools final in 2013.

“They are outstanding players that have always shown enormous potential and we are very proud of them.

“We are also proud that WIA keeps producing the kind of talent that is good enough to be professional.

“Kyle Scott and Jacob Maddox were also part of the same team and both players play for England and Chelsea FC.”
