SUPPORT Forest Green Summer Craft Fair on Saturday, July 12 from 2pm until 4.30pm at the Arkell Centre.

Also on Saturday, July 12 St Dominic’s Catholic Primary School and Parish Summer Fete is taking place from noon until 3pm. Fun activities for children, refreshments and gifts/toys/books for sale. The Weaving Shed at Gigg Mill, Nailsworth (GL6 0JF) will be open from 10am to noon on Saturday, July 19. Visitors can try their hands at weaving a pattern as well as seeing demonstrations of the flying shuttle and a power loom. Allow an hour for the visit. £3 for adults.

The Mill Centre at Dunkirk Mill will be open 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, July 20, Sunday, July 21 and Wednesday July 30. The Mill Centre at Dunkirk Mill will be open 2pm to 4pm with demonstrations of Victorian textile machinery, some driven by a large water wheel. See how the finish on a fine Stroud scarlet cloth was produced. Parking for the disabled at the mill otherwise please walk along the cycle track from Nailsworth. GL5 5HH, £3 for adults. Allow 45 minutes for the visit.

Nailsworth Mills Bowling Club continues their taster sessions on Fridays from 6pm until 9pm. Forest Green Senior Citizens’ Club meet most Thursdays except August at 1.45pm to prepare for 2.15pm start at The Arkell Community Centre. Varied and interesting events are arranged for an hour followed by a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits and all for £1.50 per week plus an Annual Membership fee. Box Gardening Club would like to remind you that their programme for 2014 is available via their website. Talks are on the third Tuesday of the month, in Box Village Hall, 7.30 for 8pm. Further details see Box-Village.com The weekly Saturday family walk of approximately two hours which currently starts 10am from the Comrades Club is now commencing at 6.30pm on Tuesday until further notice, £3 each to include a drink and a cheese supper upon return. Every Wednesday, Luke from Black8Bikes hosts a pre-planned ‘magical mystery tour’ all ages and abilities welcome. The ride goes off road as much as possible and is usually from 12 to 20 miles.
