WOMEN and girls of Cirencester only have slightly more than a week until they have to lace up their running shoes for this year's Race for Life.
The annual race will see hundreds of local ladies running, walking or dancing around Cirencester Park in a bid to raise money and awareness for charity Cancer Research UK.
Organisers of the Cirencester event have said they are "chuffed to bits" with the amount of women who have already signed up.
Nearly 1,000 women have put their names down for the five kilometre race and more than 300 have put their names down for the brand new 10 kilometre event.
The Standard has even put a team together to run the five kilometre race. Staff have been frantically fundraising and held a quiz and a raffle to boost funds. They are now only £75 away from a target of £500.
This year's Race for Life is at 10am on Sunday, July 20. Visit justgiving.com/localnewsladies to support the Standard team.
