FILMING started on J K Rowling’s Casual Vacancy at Archway School in Stroud on Monday.
Crews headed to Archway to shoot the TV series which stars Michael Gambon.
The production company is also hoping to use the school during the summer break and has offered students the chance to sign up as extras.
The Casual Vacancy, which was Rowling’s first novel following the Harry Potter series, begins with the death of parish councillor Barry Fairbrother and shows the affect it has on the small suburban West Country town where he lived.
