PARK Junior Primary School in Stonehouse collected bags of textiles worth more than £200 for Rags 2 Riches 4 Schools.

The weigh-in earned the school £221.95 with the total weight of bags at 341.45 kilos.

Parents and pupils were encouraged to clear their homes of all unwanted goods including shoes, clothes and bedding to donate at 65p per bag.

The children were visited by the mascot of Rags 2 Riches to weigh and collect the bags.

The money raised from the recycling will be spent on new outdoor play equipment for the pupils to enjoy, and remaining cash will go back into parent-teacher association funds.
