THE clean-up operation started at Nu-Pro off London Road, Stroud this morning following last night's fire.
Officers from Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service are working with the company and the contractor to assess the situation further. This is expected to go on throughout the day.
A spokesman for the service said: "We will continue to have a presence at the scene to make sure that anyone coming onto site are safe.
"Residents are now safe to go about their daily business however, the plea is to remain away from the affected area and if you are nearby keep windows and doors closed purely as a precautionary measure.
"The Environment Agency are on site assessing environmental impact and monitoring the situation.
"They will specifically look at pollution into the air and the nearby River Frome."
