GYM junkies  at the Fitness Mill are still waiting for their fitness fix  following the fire at nearby Nu-Pro on the Griffin Mill estate.

Fitness Mill owner James Darby opened for business at 6.30am this morning but  closed soon after as a cleaning  operation begun on his customer  car park .

“We opened this morning but  were advised to close as the site is having chemicals removed.

“The building is still smouldering and the smell of smoke is still very strong.

“We hope to open on Saturday and we advice people to check our Facebook page for updates.”

The whole experience has been traumatic for James  and his team after he watched the drama unfold from Rodborough Common on Wednesday night.

Former Shortwood United captain James added: “At  first  I thought it was my premises on fire and then I was worried the whole estate would go up but the emergency services have done a fantastic job.”
