ANNUAL Stroud Show will return this Saturday featuring the usual attractions as a fun day out for all the family.
The country show at Stratford Park will include a livestock show, horticultural marquee, a companion dog show, vintage vehicles, trade and charity stands, Stroud Brewery and of course the Knit and Knatter charity knit.
Stroud’s Knit and Knatter Group has been knitting slippers for its annual creative challenge and nimble-fingered residents have so far knitted 60 pairs of slippers for charity.
Each year the group, organised by show chairman Edna Powell, who runs Cotswold Sewing Machines in Lansdown, takes on a new charity project.
“This year we are supporting the Samaritan’s Purse charity who run an appeal, Operation Christmas Child, to help children in the third world,” said Edna.
The appeal has delivered over 100 million shoeboxes since 1990, operating in over 130 countries and boxes are given to children based on need.
Everyone is welcome to take part and patterns for the knitted slippers are still available from Edna in her shop as they will continue to collect until October.
The show opens at 9.30am and entry is free.
