A DONATION of £9,000 has been made to the charity The Willow Trust by the Coventry Building Society.
The Trust runs two fully wheelchair-accessible canal boats based near Frampton-on Severn at Saul Junction on the Stroudwater Canal and is funded entirely by donations.
The presentation, made on Friday by staff at the Cirencester branch is thought to be the largest from the
Coventry's special savings account, Supporters of The Willow Trust where one per cent of the average balance is presented to the trust every year.
"I am staggered," said Trust administrator Liz Rowland "because last year the amount was just under £3,000. I am pretty certain that £9,000 is the largest donation we have ever received. It is terriffic.
"We will be able to give hundreds of disabled children and adults a day out on the water like they have never known."
