SNJ editor Sue Smith is getting into shape for an adventurous holiday.
It’s not always easy to get going...

I WUSSED out on Matt this week as I woke up at 5.30am on day of gym session feeling very sick and generally exhausted. It’s been one of those weeks.
Got as far as putting on my gym clothes but was defeated by overwhelming tiredness.
He was very understanding and texted me back to say the sensible thing in the circumstances would be to get some rest, so we have made another arrangement for next week.
There comes a point when you have to just give in and accept you can only do what you can do.
Was feeling much better the next day though and realised I could do a lot of the workout at home on my own, which is what I did.
I replicated the step routine on my stairs and all the floor exercises were easy enough to do once I had cleared a bit of space in my bedroom.
So, all was not lost and I felt I had worked a few muscles.
Matt has also devised a diet plan for me which miraculously contains all the food I love and would naturally choose for myself – lovely Greek yoghurt with blueberries, cinnamon and honey for breakfast, chicken, beetroot and feta salad for lunch and jacket potato for supper. What’s not to like?
So, although I haven’t got off to a cracking start – sometimes life and work just gets in the way – I am motivated and because I have given myself a long enough time frame in which to achieve my goal, I know I am going to get there.
