STROUD youngsters can enjoy free play sessions over the summer holidays,.

Stroud Town Council helps fund weekly play sessions at Archway Gardens play area and Mason Road.

The sessions are run by Play Gloucestershire, a children’s charity that specialises in outdoor play.

From April to June this year, Play Gloucestershire provided 64 hours of community play involving 67 children at Archway Gardens and Mason Road.

Described as an outdoor youth club, Play Gloucestershire, which runs the Rangers scheme, offers a wide range of activities for young people aged seven to 14.

Pip Levett, director of Play Gloucestershire, said: “When one of the mums reached for her purse to pay she was amazed that the service is free for kids."

The holiday play sessions at Archway Gardens are on Thursdays from 10am to 4pm and run weekly from July 21. The sessions at Mason Road run on Tuesdays between 4pm and 6pm.
