A 53-YEAR-OLD man has received a 20 month ban for driving after steering off after a crash while over the alcohol limit.

Stroud Magistrates’ Court heard how Stuart Peacey, of St Swithins, Leonard Stanley was twice the legal drink drive limit when he was behind the wheel of his BMW.

After colliding with another vehicle on Marsh Road, Leonard Stanley, the court heard on Wednesday, July 16 that he did not give his details.

A breath test on the day of the incident, Saturday, May 31, revealed 83 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

He admitted drink driving, failing to stop and give details after a road accident, driving without insurance and driving not in accordance with a driving licence.

Peacey, was also ordered to pay a £665 fine, a £66 victim surcharge and £85 towards prosecution costs.
